| Quite a few years ago, I had the opportunity of working with a Special Education class made up of students from upper primary and intermediate grades. When it came to holiday program time, they told me that their favorite song was “Jingle Bells,” so we decided to figure out a dance to that song. Here it is. | ||
| Formation: Circle, holding hands | ||
A. Verse: Dashing through the snow
(turn toward the right and walk briskly)
In a one-horse open sleigh O’er the fields we go Laughing all the way! |
||
Watch out Surprise! New phrase! |
||
| Bell on bobtail ring (turn and walk left) Making spirits bright What fun it is to ride and sing A sleighing song tonight! |
||
| B. Refrain (repeat twice) |
||
| Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells (Walk toward the center of the circle, as hands move up while wrists and hands twist depicting jingle bells.) | ||
| Jingle all the way. (clap, clap) | ||
| Oh, what fun it is to ride (feet move back to the original place in the circle. The hands continue twisting as they come down.) | ||
| In a one-horse open sleigh. (clap, clap) | ||
